# 3. Cards, Objects, and Characteristics

## 3.1 Card Type

3.1.1 Momon is the only card type in the current game.

3.1.2 A physical card is an object. When a card changes zones, it becomes a new game object with no memory of its previous existence, except for its Owner and information that a rule or Ability explicitly carries across the zone change.

## 3.2 Printed Components

| **Component**      | **Rules Meaning**                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         |
| ------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Name               | Identifies the card.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      |
| Trait | A printed classification that Abilities may reference. The current card specification permits up to three printed Trait entries. “Type,” “typing,” and “tag” have no separate rules meaning unless an official card specification or Ability defines one. |
| Power | A numeric characteristic used during Snatch Resolution. |
| Element | One of the twelve standard Elements, or the special Element Origin. |
| Element Advantage | The standard Elements that the card’s Element Beats, determined by [Section 16](/comprehensive-rules-1.0.0/formats-and-reference-data/16-element-advantage-matrix.md) of these Comprehensive Rules. |
| Snatch-Sight       | Owner-relative directions used to create Snatch Attempts.                                                                                                                                                                                                 |
| Sight-Mark         | The property assigned to a Snatch-Sight direction. Normal is the current default Sight-Mark.                                                                                                                                                              |
| Text Box | Contains rules text and may also contain italic flavor text. Only rules text affects the game. |
| Deck Point | The printed Star symbol displays the card’s Deck Point value for Constructed deck building. Rarity is separate product information and has no rules effect. |
| Border Information | Set, collector number, rarity, illustrator, copyright, and publication data. It has no gameplay effect. |

## 3.3 Current and Printed Characteristics

3.3.1 A card’s printed characteristics are the values physically printed on it, as corrected by official errata and the Element Advantage Matrix.

3.3.2 A card’s current characteristics are its printed characteristics after all applicable continuous effects are applied in the order in [Section 11](/comprehensive-rules-1.0.0/abilities-and-game-state/11-abilities-trigger-queue-and-continuous-effects.md).

3.3.3 A face-down card has no characteristics other than being a card. Its Owner may inspect it when the rules of its zone permit, but the game does not use its hidden characteristics unless an effect specifically instructs a player to inspect or reveal them.

3.3.4 Original Power means the Power printed on the card, as corrected by official errata. Modifiers and temporary values do not change Original Power.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://momon-wonder.gitbook.io/comprehensive-rules-1.0.0/foundations/03-cards-objects-and-characteristics.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
