# 15. Formats and Deck Construction

## 15.1 General

15.1.1 Each deck contains exactly ten cards.

15.1.2 An Event Fact Sheet may modify card legality or deck construction only where the applicable Tournament Rules Guide or Format Appendix expressly delegates that variable. A delegated restriction or ban list applies in addition to this section.

15.1.3 Deck correction and penalties are governed by the applicable TOURNAMENT RULES GUIDE and PROCEDURE AND PENALTY GUIDE, not by this document.

## 15.2 Constructed

15.2.1 A Constructed deck contains no more than one card with the same official English name after applying errata, unless the applicable Tournament Format Appendix imposes a stricter across-deck restriction. That official English name is the card identity used for duplicate-card restrictions.

15.2.2 The total Deck Point value of its ten cards cannot exceed 25.

15.2.3 The printed Star symbol displays Deck Point value. Rarity remains separate product information and does not alter deck legality.

15.2.4 The number of required Constructed decks is defined by the applicable Tournament Format Appendix. An Event Fact Sheet may not change that number unless the Appendix expressly permits it.

## 15.3 Draft

15.3.1 A Draft deck contains exactly ten cards chosen from the player’s drafted card pool.

15.3.2 Duplicate cards are permitted if the drafted card pool contains them.

15.3.3 The 25-Deck-Point limit does not apply.

15.3.4 Pack count, Draft procedure, pool registration, pack errors, and the number of required decks are defined by the applicable Tournament Rules Guide and Draft Format Appendix. An Event Fact Sheet may set only variables those rules expressly delegate.

## 15.4 Sealed

15.4.1 A Sealed deck consists of every card in the sealed card pool assigned to that player, as defined by the applicable Tournament Format Appendix. The sealed card pool contains exactly ten cards. The player does not select which cards form the deck.

15.4.2 Duplicate cards are permitted if the sealed card pool contains them.

15.4.3 The 25-Deck-Point limit does not apply.

15.4.4 Pack composition, pool registration, card-replacement and proxy procedures, and pack errors are defined by the applicable Tournament Rules Guide and Sealed Format Appendix. An Event Fact Sheet may set only variables those rules expressly delegate.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://momon-wonder.gitbook.io/comprehensive-rules-1.0.0/formats-and-reference-data/15-formats-and-deck-construction.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
